Time: 2:00pm. Admission: Free. Age restrictions: All Ages. Address: 33-37 Echo Point Road. Venue phone: 4782 3653. Ben Connor & The Butterman & Friends returns to continue our bi-monthly Saturday afternoon residency on the Bar NSW terrace overlooking the Jamison Valley. The venue has re-opened after a chili winter break with hopes of sunny spring time Saturday afternoons of music and frivolity. And a sunny springtime Saturday afternoon of music and frivolity is what we have planned. Stuart Christie (The Butterman), now more than just a friend, is now all over a significant number of Ben’s tunes, so now features on the bill and throughout the three hours of music making. Sultry singer Danae Amies, guitar wielding Julien Joel Clement and cello player extraordinaire, Me-Lee Hay, will grace the stage again with their usual poise and flare, and there may be a few surprise performers yet, so stay tuned. Mountain folk please come along and help to once again make this the relaxed Saturday afternoon community experience it aspires to be. And Sydney people, Spring-time in the mountains is spectacular, so come up for the day or the weekend and, as an extra motivating factor for you, we promise we’ll give you a cuddle ;-) As before, kids are totally welcome. Hope you can make it! Here’s the venue’s website: More deets...
24/06/17 Ben Connor in Blue Mountains, NSW Winter Magic Festival, Main Stage Australia
Time: 2:35pm. Age restrictions: All Ages. Address: Katoomba. Ben Connor & The Butterman are very pleased to announce that we’ll be busting out some of our best tunes in a 45-minute set on the main stage for the Winter Magic Festival in Katoomba on 24th June 2017. Our gig starts at 2.35pm. Rehearsing in the lead up to this gig has been fun. Stuart Christie, ‘The Butterman’, has now established a relaxed fluidity with the dexterously performed, multi-instrumental, straight and experimental, soundscapes he has created for Ben’s tunes, old and new, and is more and more, getting his groove on. They’ll be so much great stuff happening around town all day and there’s always a great atmosphere, so the festival itself is definitely worth checking out, but come along to see us, we’ll be doing our best to make it worth your while. 29/04/17 Ben Connor in Katoomba, NSW Bar NSW at The Lookout, Echo Point Australia
Time: 2:00pm. Age restrictions: All Ages. Address: 33-37 Echo Point Road. Venue phone: 4782 3653. I’ve been working hard in preparation for the next 3-hour set of originals and covers at this beautiful outdoor, cliff-top venue, overlooking the Jamison Valley. This is the second installment of a now bi-monthly residency. Stuart Christie returns as the multi-instrumentalist ‘Butterman’; last gigs much loved local singer, Danae Amies, and guitar maestro, Julien Joel Clement, are gonna do some quality covers with me again; and the ever-mysterious, hauntingly beautiful cello player, Me-Lee Hay, may or not be joining me for a few tunes depending on her busy schedule. Mountain folk, as I said for the last gig, I’m hoping to build this bimonthly residency into relaxed Saturday afternoon community experience, so I’d love you to come along and share with me any ideas you might have on how to make it all.. gooder. And Sydney peeps, I’m gonna say it again, if the rat race is getting to you, these misty hills be a fine weekend escape with lots of nice places to stay and things to do… like coming to this gig! As before, kids are totally welcome. My little girl, Kira, will be running around and is always keen to make new friends. So hope you can make it! More deets...

Time: 3:00pm. Admission: $0. Age restrictions: All Ages. Address: 33-37 Echo Point Road. Venue phone: 4782 3653. Beez doen this 3 hour solo set of originals and covers in this beautiful vista Katoomba venue with talented family and friends getting up on stage to help out along the way: Me old cuz Stuart Christie (gonna reinvigorate some tunes from our old band ‘Double Helix’), talented local singer, Miss Danae Amies (Disco Frisco & Papa Gonzo) and my banjo picking brother, Paddy Connor (Lime and Steel). For mountain friends, I’m hoping to make this a regular monthly or bimonthly relaxed Saturday afternoon collaborative thing with friends and family on stage and off and general good times, so be great if you could show the venue we can pull a crowd. For Sydney friends, a summer weekend in the mountains consisting of fancy Airbnb digs, bushwalks, coffee shops, markets… and a Saturday afternoon of beer and tunes doesn’t sound too bad, does it? Oh, and kids are welcome! Anyways, hope you can make it.

This is all very sad, as we kind of like him and have been rehearsing for months in the hope to start gigging. The good news is that we are going to perform one gig with the current line up at Brett’s big Sydney farewell extravaganza BRETTSTOCK, to which all are welcome. Unfortunately we still haven’t come up with a band name, so are currently The Ben Connor Band. The following bands are also playing: The Expert Mentals; Through a Glass Darkly and Echo Foxtrot. Entrance costs $10, which is absolutely nothing compared to the cost of buying your own home. More deets...
